Deer Park Elementary
Elementary Wednesday, August 7, 2023
8:00-1:00

-K-5 Families that have preregistered or are returning students, will report to the
cafeteria using the door by the side parking lot to start their “Meet the Teacher
Day” experience.

-Families new to Deer Park that have not preregistered, will report to the front
office to complete the necessary paperwork.

Step 0:
-Prior to coming to campus, please place all school supplies into a box/bag with your child’s first and last name and student number. (Supply lists can be found on our website or local stores have our list)
-Please know how your child will be going home on the first day of school and on subsequent days

Step 1: Start in the Cafeteria- Enter through Car Loop
– Please use the car loop gate to enter campus and make your way to the cafeteria. All exterior entrances will be closed for safety purposes. When you enter the cafeteria, you will complete steps 2-4.

Step 2: Pay Student Fees- Cost $32.00
-For a quick experience, you can prepay your child’s fees online at https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/parents and hit the “Pay Fee” tab. Then bring the receipt to benefit from our fast pass pre-paid line.
-If you do not prepay online, you can pay by cash or check, as we do not take credit cards, on Meet the Teacher Day.
– Get/Verify your child’s teacher assignment after paying your student fees.

Step 3: Transportation Tables- ALL Families Must Visit This Area
-Car Rider, Bus Riders, PALCE, Walkers & Daycare Riders MUST pick up their tags for the student’s backpack before going to classrooms.
-Walker & Bike rider students need to sign a “Walker” release form. This form lets us know If they need a parent to meet them at the gate or have permission to walk on their own. (Note: Parents that meet their children at the walker gates for pick up, will need to bring their car rider tags. No tag, no student. If a parent forgets their tag, they will need to have their photo IDs checked before releasing a student, which may take a while).
*In addition: All students get car rider rearview mirror tags regardless of how they go home. These tags are used for car loop, walker’s gates AND for pick up for any school event. Parents must show their tags to pick up their students or provide ID. These will be given to you in the classroom.

Step 4: Visit the PTA Table
-Join the PTO
-Buy School Spirit Wear (Students wear school colors on Friday and engage in spirit competitions, so get your child a school shirt and make Friday mornings easy on yourself!)

Step 5: Visit the Classroom
-Meet the teacher and drop off your school supplies.
-Fill out the teacher’s contact information and transportation form (this form is a double check for our records)
-Pick up your “Beginning of the Year” folder and planners. Your child’s first homework assignment of the year is to get their parents signature in their planner.
-Pick up your rearview mirror car tags (each family receives two regardless of their daily transportation method), these tags are not only used for car loop but for picking up at school events, so keep them in your car for convivence.
-Parents must visit the clinic, and fill out the appropriate paperwork, and drop off medications for students that need to take physician prescribed medication.
