What are Sunshine State books?

Our Media Center has TWO copies of each Sunshine State book available for students/staff to checkout.
Please note: students are only permitted ONE Sunshine State book to checkout at a time.
Specific Details by Grade-Level:
Primary students - will read all 15 Sunshine State Jr. books in class, out loud, with their teacher.
Reward: Once a class has finished all 15 books, all students will earn a “Free Ice cream Coupon” during their lunchtime on a set designated day made by Ms. Emmaline.
Intermediate students - on their own, will read all 15 Sunshine State Young Readers books, take and pass all 15 quizzes on myLearning.
Reward: Once a student has finished all 15 books and passed all quizzes with a 70% or higher, they will be invited to the end of year Sunshine State Celebration. As they take tests, if they pass, will earn that books brag tag as a token of completion. Please read below for more details regarding the Sunshine State myLearning Course:
-Students will be invited to the course when they are ready to take their first book.
-Quizzes are 10 questions each.
-Quizzes have unlimited attempts.
-Quizzes are NOT timed.
-Quizzes can only be taken during school hours in the Media Center. They are password protected!
“How can I take a Sunshine State test?” - when students are ready to take a test, they may either inform their teacher or Ms. Emmaline in the Media Center. There MUST be a set time and day assigned for them to test, so they are not missing out on instructional time.
